Getting Back On Track
well 4 weeks down and although I'm stoked with my progress so far I know that I have not pushed myself and have backed off on the exercise front! So this months goal is simple "Up The Ante" finding the food program so easy to follow but the old excuses about excersise have reared up again so time for a change in the routine. Now that daylight savings is here I have decided to get out of the gym a bit more and utilize the great outdoors also stocked up on workout DVDs so fingers crossed this is the month of "Outdoor Action" The kids have all agread to be my cheer squad and support crew but I think they might be in for a surprise when they have to join me lol...

DISCOVERED A NEW RED FLAG
Oh dear have just dicovered a new red flag I shall have to work hard at changing... "Weekend Dayshift" ok so I thought I'd had it all sorted but I really struggled with the excercise. Had it in my diary to do the at home program as I can't get to the gym on these days as the opening hours don't allow it. I was feeling so buggered on Friday night that I decided that I would swap it for my Sunday rest day that was all good, or so I thought. Saturday was all good I managed to get away from work a little early so when I got home I cranked the tunes and hit the home gym in the garage whoo hoo an hour of mixed cardio and weights was buggered but felt good. Sunday I did Zip!! I have no excuses it was just pure laziness ! It had been raining all day so we got sent home a hour early so I had plenty of time.. So what to do ? Well use what happened thisweekend and learn from it. I'm not going to dwell, although the major guilts kicked in and spured me on at the gym thismorning but after a chat with the trainer at the gym I don't feel so bad this is the start of a brand new week!!
So remember people that we learn from these things and to use them positively to ensure we don't repeat and are better prepared! Chin up put it behind me and I shall soldier on striving to reach my goal!

Right on Track
well week 2 weigh in and another 1.3kgs gone whoo hoo and feeling fantastic! I managed to stay on track with both the exercise and food this week but it took sheer will power and determination... the lure of all the temptations that hubby place in the pantry while home for the week oh not to mention the box of fredo's the daughter brought home from school .. of all the times to have a chocolate drive ..go figure ....
Once again I must say the food has all been devine and wonders will never cease I got the kids to eat it all this week to green beans and all...
The only downer I've had this week was having to take the night off work on Sunday due to a tooth ache which inturn required a dreaded trip to the dentist for a rather large filling. This posed the challange of not being able to eat but alas I was prepared and took a shake to ward off the hunger pangs which was all well and good apart from dribbling half of it down my front due to a numb face..
well heres to a successful week 3 people remember you are worth it !!

A Hectic Pace!!
phew I mad it through my first 2 days at work on the 12WBT it made for long days but I keep telling myself the end goal it well worth it.. My crazy days went a little like this:
4.50am - wakeup
6.00am - leave house for work
7.20pm - leave work
7.45pm - arrive at gym
8.45pm - leave gym
9.00pm - finally get home
Now just to get throught the 3 nightshifts although I have always found them easier to be organized for so lets hope it true this week !!
Week 1 weigh in an Wednesday moring was a real surprise I approached it with the thought in mind that we had only done 2 days. When I steped on the scales I was blown away 1.8kg down , surely this was wrong so I re weighed myself 2 more times sure enough It was right AWESOME!!!! Now that is motivational.
I have really enjoyed all the food so far this week and have managed to refrain from snacking only having some fruit on my 2 dayshifts. Have just looked at week 2 and I can't wait to try all those yummy recipes this meal plan sure has mad me a little adveturous and try things I would normally turn my nose up at.
The exercise side of things has been good to I finding I push myself a little harder and don't give up so easily if it's a little hard. I have also been telling people that I'm doing the 12WBT which 1- makes me accounable and 2 - people have been offering me heaps of support. My hubby has also been awesome with his support and encouragement. He has also gone out to do my food shopping for week 2 as I'm on nights and won't beable to get to the shops needless to say I'm a little worried but hey he has a list how hard can it be ? LOL
well I hope everyone else has enjoyed the program thus far it's been an epic week lets just keep tell ourselves that YES! we are worth it..

A Productive Day
today was my last day of R&R before its back to work and wow a busy and productive day it was. This was my last day to get organised so I stay on track while working this week. Kicked off with another epic gym session of a full weight circut and 30 mins of cardio I just keep thinking of the end goal and how much it's so worth all the pain. Hmm wonder if I still feel the same at 4.30 tomorrow morning when I have to get up for work, believe me climbing 20 steps to reach the cab of my truck is not fun with stiff legs.
I went out and replaced my food processor so I managed to get my fish cakes made along with the lasange which I must say looks scrumptious. Then it was on to the housework ewww a thankless task but some ones got to do it think I can count the vacuuming and mopping as another work out phew!
With that done it was time to pick my daughter up from school and head of for a game of squash , well really it was just a hack session by 2 beginners with no Idea but hell it worked up a sweat and was fun.
Have enjoyed all the meals again today even ate corn for the first time in years, not that I don't like it lets just say it doesn't seem to like me (gives me gas) kids all gald I'm working and they not in the truck cab with me tomorrow..
Big day tomorrow back to work ewww 2 day shifts followed by 3 nights determained to stay on track, it also brings week one weigh in not to fazed as we only started the program 2 days ago but the best part of the day will be when I finally get home as my wonderfull hubby will be here waiting for me home for a week on break.

Game On !
Well it's now game on !
Today was the start of the new me living healthy I kicked it off with an early morning although I was not really looking forward to the banana smoothie for breaky as I'm not a banana person but hey this 12 weeks is all about new things so I gritted my teeth and drank it.. Well to my surpries I quiet enjoyed it could taste the cinnamon more than the banana, but don't count on seeing me eat on in a hurry ewww!
As I had to have #1 son at school early I took advantage and beat the rush hour at the gym..
Hmmm they gym a place I have not visited for a while seemed I always had a convenient excuse not to go, but no more this place is about to become my second home. Day 1 was all about fitness so I hit the bike for 30 mins whoo hoo I was on my way all done that was 145 cals burnt. Feeling good I hit the eliptical trainer now this piece of equipment is one of my least favorites I usually avoid or only do 5 mins but today as I steped on I said " your not going to beat me " and ambitiously set the timer for 20 mins and blow me down I did it all be it on level 1 but I hey the gaol was to complete the time and I burnt another 185 cals . I was pumped after that and jumped straight on the treadmill for 30 mins on the random setting and varied between jogging and walking whoo hoo 235 cal gone.. Not a bad effort in my books for the first session of the 12WBT 120 mins cardio and 565 cals in total it's onwards and upwards from here!! Was feeling do good when I got home I took the poor neglected dog for a walk he must of thought it was christmas.
Food wise I have enjoyed all 3 meals today and haven't even felt like snacking probably haven't drank enough water which mixed with the gym session and caffine withdrals gave me a snotter of a head ache so snuck off for a nanny nap hehe, that seemed to do the trick along with my first cupper for the day at 3pm. Feeling a little better I went about making my fish cakes to pop in the freezer I had all the ingredients set to go popped the fish into my food processor ( I had to find and dust it off to use ) fliped the switch and BANG! it went smoke every where Oh buger! so into containers and the fridge it all went, such a shame that I have to get a new one tomorrow...
well I think an early night will be needed tonight in order to get up and do it all again tomorrow I for see alot of early nights in the future Oh the joys of getting old!
I am in control of my health and wellness.

The Fitness Test
Ok after a rather late night of watching movies with my son I was up bright and early with a spring in my step excited about doing the fitness test today. I decided that I would ride my bike down to the park ( The warm Up) so into the garage I went to find it in the abyss of kids stuff!! Ah there it was in the far corner where sadly it had sat for the last 2 years, needless to say it was in a bit of a sad state but with a little TLC I had the webs gone and dusted off in no time. Now the only task I need to do was wake the sleeping teen who offered his help and support for this task. With that done we were ready to be on our merry way but I didn't even get out of the driveway ahhhh NO brakes !!! Crisis averted when my awesome son whipped out the tool box and had it all fixed and ready for take 2... Thanks James ..
Well we made it to the park in one piece, I hadn't forgotten how to ride my bike. So on with the test 3 laps of the rugby field easy I'm thinking..WRONG !! I managed to jog 1 and 1/4 laps before the pace slowed to a walk my lungs were burning and I felt sick but I pushed on and completerd the 3. Next push ups ready go 1,2,3...14, 15 ahhh my arms where like jelly hurry up timer were my thoughts. Ok time for situps agggghhh that's 1 OMG!! where in hell has my ab strenght gone?? it's no existant !! Righto final task the dreaded wall sit hahaha who would of thought you could hold your self up with jelly legs.
Time to check results and I must say I surprised myself I'm stoked with how I went but striving now to be evenbetter next time round..
1 km completed in - 6mins 20sec Intermediate
push ups in 1 min - 24 (on knees) Intermediate
sit ups in 1 min - 26 (level 1)
wall sit - 1min 15sec Intermediate
So now I'm about to spend the arfternoon in the kitchen getting prepared for the big kick off week so I can get an early night tonight ready for my first big session back at the gym for 3 months. So I say sorry with to my poor old body in advance but I'm sure you will love me for it by the end of this 12 weeks!!
With that I'm off Good luck my fellow 12 weekers I look forward to following your blogs and facebook pages while taking this journey with you all ..
